Who is responsible and what this policy covers

Samuel García, in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico, is the contact responsible for Meta-Mind: Journal & Wellbeing. For privacy questions, email [email protected].

This policy covers the mobile app. The website privacy policy is explained separately.

Data you use in the app

The app stores journal entries, mood records, habits, statistics, and preferences on your device. If you use the corresponding features, it may also store photos, voice files, and usage data from other apps to show digital wellbeing information.

Access to photos, camera, microphone, notifications, usage statistics, and biometric locking depends on the features you enable and the permissions you grant in Android. You can review or revoke permissions in your device settings.

Connected services and backups

Journal & Wellbeing can work with locally stored information, but it is not entirely offline. Some features connect to Google services:

  • Google Drive: if you link your account and enable a backup, journal entries and other data included in the backup are sent to your Drive space so they can be restored. Automatic backup works only if you enable it.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging: supports general app notifications. This may involve technical device identifiers.
  • Firebase Crashlytics and Remote Config: provide technical crash information and app configuration. Crashlytics may send diagnostic data to Google.

Existing installations may retain information from an earlier Firebase session. You do not need to create a new account to write in the journal. Google services have their own terms and privacy policies.

Purposes and retention

Local records are used to display your entries, moods, habits, charts, and self-care features. Connected services support the backups you enable, notifications, configuration, and technical diagnostics. The app has no ads and does not use the Android advertising ID.

Local data stays on your device until you delete it in the app or clear its data in Android. Uninstalling the app removes local storage but does not automatically delete a backup saved to Google Drive. If you enabled backups, review your Drive account to manage them.

Control over your data

You can delete records and manage permissions in the app or Android. To ask about data associated with services managed by Meta-Mind, email [email protected]. If data exists only on your device, the app owner cannot access it through this website.

You can use that email to request access, correction, deletion, or objection regarding data under Meta-Mind’s responsibility, and to ask how to limit its use or revoke permission where applicable. Describe the data and your request so we can identify the case. System permissions can be revoked in Android, and Drive backups can be disabled in the app.
